Marin Luican showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eliseo Noboa, who was totally free with the ball in the 11th minute. In the 29th match minute, Nanov fc was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Isac Nebunu to maneuver through the defense. After 34 played minutes Nanov fc got a freekick which was hit by Horea Lăzăroiu. A collision led to Costa Rica getting a freekick after 38 minutes play. Axel Tasis hit a great ball. When the match had gone on for 39 minutes, Costel Gugulanu put it in 1-0 from a short distance just to the right of Benito Sanz. The audience thought a goal was coming when Felix Hosu got free with Benito Sanz in the 43rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Axel Tasis sent away a hard shot on goal in the 46th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Axel Tasis made a kick off. Horea Lăzăroiu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 52nd minute. Benito Sanz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 62nd minute, Axel Tasis managed to get in a good position for a shot. Costa Rica's supporters rose to their feet, but Axel Tasis was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Marin Luican breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Benito Sanz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Horea Lăzăroiu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Aaron Alcocer kicked well hit freekick during the 67th minute of the match. 71 minutes into the match, Costa Rica's goal looked a bit too open when Horea Lăzăroiu came free, but Benito Sanz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 73rd minute, Lautaro Puig hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 77 minutes into the match, Horea Lăzăroiu had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Benito Sanz. Costa Rica's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Horea Lăzăroiu was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. Nanov fc's Marin Luican proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 82nd minute of the match, managed to save Nanov fc from getting a goal against them. The crowd rose to their feet as Costa Rica's Eliseo Noboa slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Marin Luican. That made the score 2-1 after 84 minutes of play. If Felix Hosu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Felix Hosu in the 89th minute of play forced Costa Rica's goalkeeper Benito Sanz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 90th minute of the match Nanov fc got a corner. Costa Rica's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Costel Gugulanu ran over to the corner to take the kick. Costel Gugulanu made a great header on Nanov fc's corner, it was just that Costa Rica's Benito Sanz managed to reach the ball for a save. Nanov fc were awarded a corner in the 92th minute after Costa Rica's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Costel Gugulanu took the corner. Nanov fc's Costel Gugulanu was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Benito Sanz in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. In the 94th minute, Horea Lăzăroiu got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 96th minute, Eliseo Noboa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Nanov fc had played much better football throughout.
