When Soltani Belkacem came up free with the goalie in the 11th minute, the FC TOKIO fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Soltani Belkacem couldn't finish the play. With an all-out effort, FC TOKIO's Jonathan Ferrant threw himself towards the right post 15 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Anther Benflis, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. 17 minutes into the match, Anther Benflis had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. Venezuela's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Anther Benflis was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Anther Benflis to make the kick off. After a rather tough play, FC TOKIO's Ahmed Diss got a free kick in the 53rd minute. After having played for 54 minutes, Tomas Illescas managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Venezuela's supporters crossed their fingers, but Tomas Illescas was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Jonathan Ferrant showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Anther Benflis, who was totally free with the ball in the 55th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Amine Larfaoui in the 59th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jonathan Ferrant saved Venezuela from getting behind. After some careless play in the Venezuela defense, Anther Benflis kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. The Venezuela fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jonathan Ferrant should have stopped the shot. Kamel Ibrir kicked well hit freekick during the 71st minute of the match. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Amine Larfaoui in the 74th minute of play. Tedj Djeziri stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Tomas Illescas's shot from short distance in the 77th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Tomas Illescas in the 77th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Tedj Djeziri saved FC TOKIO from getting behind. FC TOKIO's Tedj Djeziri proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 78th minute of the match, managed to save FC TOKIO from getting a goal against them. Jonathan Ferrant took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Anther Benflis, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Tomas Illescas charged in rather forcefully in the 84th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Tomas Illescas the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. FC TOKIO's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
