Black Rose 1979's Karl-Johan Ahlqvist played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Francisco Carballar in the 6th minute of play. 7 minutes into the game, Sebastián Cassin threw the ball into play from the sideline. Chile's Xavier Figueroa quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mariano Lacasa in the 8th minute of play forced Black Rose 1979's goalkeeper Karl-Johan Ahlqvist to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Karl-Johan Ahlqvist took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mariano Lacasa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 14 minutes into the match, Chile's goalkeeper Thiago Pliego had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Gerardo Hitz. Black Rose 1979's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Sebastian Enekoitz in the 15th minute. After 20 minutes of play, Black Rose 1979's Waldemar Matorin made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Thiago Pliego was left in no man's land by his defense there! After 22 played minutes Black Rose 1979 got a freekick which was hit by Elias Palos. In the 24th minute, Waldemar Matorin got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 27th minute Chile were awarded a corner. Mariano Lacasa went to the cornerflag to take it. Gerardo Pozo made a great header on Chile's corner, it was just that Black Rose 1979's Karl-Johan Ahlqvist managed to reach the ball for a save. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Gerardo Hitz in the 31st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Thiago Pliego saved Chile from getting behind. A collision led to Black Rose 1979 getting a freekick after 32 minutes play. Joel Venceslao hit a great ball. Thiago Pliego made a fantastic save in the 36th minute, when Davor Šuker sent off a good shot on target. 38 minutes into the match, Black Rose 1979's goal looked a bit too open when Orlando Casaus came free, but Karl-Johan Ahlqvist reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Sebastián Cassin charged in rather forcefully in the 39th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Sebastián Cassin the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Chile booed when Black Rose 1979 was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 39 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sebastián Cassin didn't get a good kick on the ball. Chile's attentive Alan Tamayo managed to snatch the ball when Sebastián Cassin made a throw-in in the 45th minute of the game. In the 47th match minute, Chile was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Orlando Casaus to maneuver through the defense. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The wind increased when Mariano Lacasa made the kick off in the second half. Karl-Johan Ahlqvist took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mariano Lacasa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Karl-Johan Ahlqvist made an important save on a dangerous shot by Mariano Lacasa in the 53rd minute. After having played for 57 minutes, Mariano Lacasa managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Chile's supporters crossed their fingers, but Mariano Lacasa was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. With his leg Karl-Johan Ahlqvist managed to avoid a goal in the 73rdth minute, when Chile's Felix Garrido fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Gerardo Pozo hit a great freekick 74 minutes into the match. In the 77th minute Enzo-Nicolás Pérez shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Thiago Pliego saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 79 minutes into the match, Mariano Lacasa dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Karl-Johan Ahlqvist, 2-1. Joel Venceslao got a throw-in 90 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Enzo-Nicolás Pérez. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
