Sorin Cartiș's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Julio Vera firmly grabbed it by the left post. Bogdan Stelea took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cristian Sancho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Luis Andino was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. After 20 minutes FC DINAMO Bucuresti's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Daniel Zorita who took care of the corner kick. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Roberto da Fonseca in the 25th minute of play. 27 minutes into the match, Cristian Sancho notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of FC DINAMO Bucuresti's Bogdan Stelea. Bogdan Stelea was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Bogdan Stelea showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Daniel Zorita, who was totally free with the ball in the 35th minute. Daniel Zorita received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 41st minute. Bogdan Stelea tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After having played for 43 minutes, Cristian Sancho managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Thanks to some nice moves Daniel Zorita could shoot a difficult shot in the 55th minute, which Bogdan Stelea however easily saved by the left post. Cristian Sancho's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Bogdan Stelea read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 56th minute of play. 58 minutes into the match, FC DINAMO Bucuresti's goal looked a bit too open when Cristian Sancho came free, but Bogdan Stelea reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ecuador's Daniel Zorita got a good chance for a goal in the 64th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 65 minutes into the match, Ecuador's Cristian Sancho sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Bogdan Stelea narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 69 minutes into the match, FC DINAMO Bucuresti's goalkeeper Bogdan Stelea had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Cristian Sancho. The referee showed Primitivo Andino the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 79th minute, one of Ecuador:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Ecuador.
