Hermelando Rey showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jonathan Alphonse, who was totally free with the ball in the 38th minute. When Jonathan Alphonse fell near the penalty area in the 43rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Haiti's protests and gave Jonathan Alphonse a yellow card for diving instead. In the 43rd match minute, Haiti was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jonathan Alphonse to maneuver through the defense. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Sanson Clos during the 45th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card.
