In the 20th minute Mattias Svan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ricardo Zorita saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ricardo Zorita came out of the goal in the 21st minute to try and stop a shot by Stockholm IF's Kurt Holmgren. But to his dismay, Kurt Holmgren quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-4. The supporters of Stockholm IF booed when El Salvador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 44 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lorenzo Yepes didn't get a good kick on the ball. 46 minutes had been played when some careless play by El Salvador's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Krzysztof Bobrowski was slow to take the kick. During this time Stockholm IF's players had a chance to rest. A well-hit corner resulted in Mattias Svan heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. Disappointed in the 0-8 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

In the 62nd play minute Kristoffer Bjurström came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Ricardo Zorita. 0-11. After 72 minutes of play, Stockholm IF's Mattias Svan made it 0-13 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Ricardo Zorita was left in no man's land by his defense there! 75 minutes into the match, Kristoffer Bjurström notched a goal, 0-14, to the right of El Salvador's Ricardo Zorita. Ricardo Zorita was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 79th minute, Rudolf Jonsson ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Ricardo Zorita was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-15. 86 minutes into the match, Mattias Svan dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Ricardo Zorita, 0-16. After 94 minutes, Abram Luque mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the El Salvador and the Stockholm IF players grew even worse after the yellow card. Stockholm IF played a much better game than El Salvador and deserved their victory. The El Salvador players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
