Rolando Noboa yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. Qiu Chuan Ran took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Julian Murillo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Qiu Chuan Ran made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Julian Murillo in the 28th minute of play. Qiu Chuan Ran showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Julian Murillo in the 30th minute of the match. Peru's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Luz Tejedor in the 31st minute. With his leg Rolando Noboa managed to avoid a goal in the 46thth minute, when Sporting Clube V.R.S.A.'s Gonzalo Lixandro fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Gonzalo Lixandro to make the kick off. Sporting Clube V.R.S.A.'s Qiu Chuan Ran played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Julian Murillo in the 64th minute of play. Rolando Noboa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gonzalo Lixandro in the 67th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Raimundo Ventura in the 68th minute of play forced Peru's goalkeeper Rolando Noboa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Eliseo Mina could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 70th minute of the match, but Qiu Chuan Ran made a huge save. Qiu Chuan Ran made a fantastic save in the 72nd minute, when Julian Murillo sent off a good shot on target. The audience was convinced that Julian Murillo's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Qiu Chuan Ran was relentless in the 74th minute of the game. 76 minutes into the match, Peru's Julian Murillo sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Qiu Chuan Ran narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The audience was convinced that Raimundo Ventura's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Rolando Noboa was relentless in the 84th minute of the game. Peru made a substitution. Eliseo Alcocer replaced Moises Gayoso. Peru's Antonio Tenorio was substituted for Luz Tejedor. Rafael Gallo took the ball and in the 92 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Qiu Chuan Ran. Qiu Chuan Ran dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-3. 95 minutes into the match, Peru's goal looked a bit too open when Gonzalo Lixandro came free, but Rolando Noboa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
