The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Peter Oldenborger took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Daniel Zorita, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The MK Investments fans' excitement grew in the 8th match minute when MK Investments's Domenik Hoffhuis looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Cristian Sancho's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Peter Oldenborger read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 11th minute of play. Daniel Zorita sent away a hard shot on goal in the 13th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Peter Oldenborger made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristian Sancho in the 16th minute of play. Peter Oldenborger showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Daniel Zorita in the 18th minute of the match. A collision led to MK Investments getting a freekick after 20 minutes play. Olaf Degens hit a great ball. Daniel Zorita was slow to take the kick. During this time Ecuador's players had a chance to rest. After 31 played minutes Daniel Zorita shot from long distance. At first the shot seemed to be simple for MK Investments's Peter Oldenborger to catch but Daniel Zorita was lucky. It became 1-1 after the goalkeeper had been careless and dropped the ball into goal. Julio Vera was a little too slow when Domenik Hoffhuis got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 35th minute. The score was now 2-1. After 39 played minutes MK Investments got a freekick which was hit by Thomas Tonnis. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Waclaw Poremba in the 44th minute of play. Domenik Hoffhuis who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 46thth minute tested the skills of Julio Vera when he managed to save the team from getting behind. A collision led to MK Investments getting a freekick after 47 minutes play. Olaf Degens hit a great ball. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Sebastiaan Middeljans to strike the kick off in the second half. A collision led to Ecuador getting a freekick after 51 minutes play. Felix Montes hit a great ball. MK Investments's Sebastiaan Middeljans got a good chance for a goal in the 52nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Gerard Lever hit a great freekick 53 minutes into the match. MK Investments's Peter Oldenborger proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 54th minute of the match, managed to save MK Investments from getting a goal against them. Peter Oldenborger didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 58th minute, which inside left pole to 2-2. Cristian Sancho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 81st match minute, Ecuador was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Antonio Arias to maneuver through the defense. In a very dangerous position, a player in MK Investments fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 83rd minute. Penalty! Thanks to some nice moves Felix Montenegro could shoot a difficult shot in the 86th minute, which Peter Oldenborger however easily saved by the left post. In the 88th minute of the match Ecuador got a corner. MK Investments's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Daniel Zorita ran over to the corner to take the kick. Cristian Sancho recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 91st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Despite being the better team, Ecuador failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
