An unexpectedly hard shot by Luis Andino in the 9th minute of play forced FC Wöllersdorf's goalkeeper Marco Moench to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rafael Pausch in the 10th minute of play. In the 17th minute FC Wöllersdorf were awarded a corner. Víktor Lara went to the cornerflag to take it. A collision led to FC Wöllersdorf getting a freekick after 19 minutes play. Janosch Terpe hit a great ball. After 19 played minutes, Ecuador's Daniel Zorita shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Marco Moench came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Ecuador reached it. Gavino Santo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 23rd minute. In the 42nd minute Gavino Santo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Marco Moench showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Daniel Zorita, who was totally free with the ball in the 43rd minute. Roland Frings hit a great freekick 45 minutes into the match. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Gavino Santo to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 92nd of the match, Cristian Sancho tried to place the ball in the upper right corner, but Marco Moench got in the way and made a wonderful save. Ecuador's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Daniel Zorita in the 93rd minute. Daniel Zorita made a great header on Ecuador's corner, it was just that FC Wöllersdorf's Marco Moench managed to reach the ball for a save. Gavino Santo kicked well hit freekick during the 95th minute of the match. Ecuador's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
