Candido Haitz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Moises Fernandino, who was totally free with the ball in the 15th minute. In the 17thth minute of the game Ruperto Sanduru who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but El Salvador's Ricardo Zorita was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Silvano Chayo made in the 19th minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Nemesio Abar however managed to control. After a defensive mix-up in ✴ ᑭᕮᒪᑌᑕᕼᕮ ✴'s zone, Abram Luque stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Candido Haitz came out of the goal and Abram Luque tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. ✴ ᑭᕮᒪᑌᑕᕼᕮ ✴'s Silvano Chayo quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Joshua Curbelo, made in the 32nd minute of the game. Candido Haitz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Moises Fernandino in the 37th minute of play. Abram Luque fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Candido Haitz having to interfere. El Salvador's Moises Fernandino got a good chance for a goal in the 39th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Moises Fernandino recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 44th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Abram Luque sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

In the 52ndth minute of the game Ruperto Sanduru who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but El Salvador's Ricardo Zorita was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. When Nestor Ledesma came up free with the goalie in the 76th minute, the ✴ ᑭᕮᒪᑌᑕᕼᕮ ✴ fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Nestor Ledesma couldn't finish the play. Silvano Chayo's late challenge caught a El Salvador's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Silvano Chayo helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, ✴ ᑭᕮᒪᑌᑕᕼᕮ ✴'s Silvano Chayo got a free kick in the 77th minute. Moises Fernandino scored 0-1 in the 79th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Candido Haitz, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After 89 minutes, Valentino Ferrant mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the El Salvador and the ✴ ᑭᕮᒪᑌᑕᕼᕮ ✴ players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 89 played minutes El Salvador got a freekick which was hit by Valentino Ferrant. After 93 minutes, Lorenzo Yepes mouthed his way into the referee's book. El Salvador's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. The El Salvador supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing El Salvador would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
