Edmundo Espiga scored 1-1 in the 24th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Kıraç Ak, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Kıraç Ak stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Edmundo Espiga's shot from short distance in the 30th minute. Lautaro Navarro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dashamir Januzaj in the 35th minute of play. Claude Theron might have been able to make a better finish in the 38th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Lautaro Navarro. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Claude Theron ran back to his position shaking his head. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Edmundo Espiga in the 40th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Kıraç Ak prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 43 minutes into the game, Szczepan Bejrut threw the ball into play from the sideline. Honduras's Luca Espinar quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-1 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Edmundo Espiga was the one to do the kick off. If Dashamir Januzaj had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Dashamir Januzaj's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Lautaro Navarro read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 93rd minute of play.
