Spectators: 40 (Terracing: 31, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Marian Mustăcilă started the match with the kick off. Benito Sanz was out of position in the 4 minute of play, and Aristide Vuia capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Aristide Vuia really showed his touch with that goal: 1-0. 7 minutes into the game, Aaron Alcocer cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Marius Radovan was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Marian Mustăcilă scored 2-1 in the 14th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Benito Sanz, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After 17 minutes of play, Costa Rica's Eliseo Noboa made it 2-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Marius Radovan was left in no man's land by his defense there! Dunărea Călăraşi's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Marian Mustăcilă in the 22nd minute. In the 27th minute, Ionuț Roşu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A collision led to Costa Rica getting a freekick after 29 minutes play. Abel Carballo hit a great ball. 30 minutes into the match, Costa Rica's goalkeeper Benito Sanz had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Aurel Stătescu. The supporters of Costa Rica booed when Dunărea Călăraşi was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 31 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ibrahim Domröse didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, Dunărea Călăraşi's Marian Mustăcilă got a free kick in the 33rd minute. Costa Rica's Benito Sanz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marian Mustăcilă in the 37th minute of play. When Aurel Stătescu came up free with the goalie in the 43rd minute, the Dunărea Călăraşi fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Aurel Stătescu couldn't finish the play. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Axel Tasis made a kick off. When Marian Mustăcilă fell near the penalty area in the 60th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Dunărea Călăraşi's protests and gave Marian Mustăcilă a yellow card for diving instead. Marian Mustăcilă kicked well hit freekick during the 60th minute of the match. Dunărea Călăraşi made a substitution. Ştefan Petru replaced Marian Mustăcilă. After 61 played minutes Dunărea Călăraşi got a freekick which was hit by Marian Mustăcilă. After a defensive mix-up in Costa Rica's zone, Aurel Stătescu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Benito Sanz came out of the goal and Aurel Stătescu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 65 minutes into the game, Ştefan Petru cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-2. Benito Sanz was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 68th minute Aurel Stătescu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Benito Sanz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 76 minutes into the game, Ştefan Petru cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 4-2. Benito Sanz was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Dunărea Călăraşi's Maxim Cismaș was substituted for Aristide Vuia. In the 83rd minute Dunărea Călăraşi were awarded a corner. Aurel Stătescu went to the cornerflag to take it. Dunărea Călăraşi's Aurel Stătescu was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Benito Sanz in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Benito Sanz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ştefan Petru, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to Costa Rica getting a freekick after 89 minutes play. Hugo Ferrant hit a great ball. 93 minutes into the match, Costa Rica's goal looked a bit too open when Aurel Stătescu came free, but Benito Sanz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gheorghe Gușatu in the 95th minute of play forced Costa Rica's goalkeeper Benito Sanz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Dunărea Călăraşi booed when Costa Rica was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 95 match minutes in a wonderful position. Juan Rubio didn't get a good kick on the ball.
