Noel Seide dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Felix Dorval could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 20th minute of the match, but Hermelando Rey made a huge save. 24 minutes into the match, El Kiwy Mecanico's goal looked a bit too open when Jonathan Alphonse came free, but Hermelando Rey reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the match had gone on for 26 minutes, Jonathan Alphonse put it in 1-1 from a short distance just to the right of Hermelando Rey. The supporters of Haiti booed when El Kiwy Mecanico was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 30 match minutes in a wonderful position. Leandro Alfaro didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jonathan Alphonse blasted a shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Hermelando Rey having to make a save. Noel Seide showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Juan-Alfredo Vuelta, who was totally free with the ball in the 33rd minute. El Kiwy Mecanico's Lazaro Clos got a good chance for a goal in the 41st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 43rd minute, Julen Balcells hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 44 minutes, Sanson Clos mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the El Kiwy Mecanico and the Haiti players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 44th match minute, El Kiwy Mecanico was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sanson Clos to maneuver through the defense. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Felix Dorval kicked well hit freekick during the 75th minute of the match. Borys Gniech made in the 79th minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Lazaro Clos however managed to control. Lazaro Clos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 81st minute. Noel Seide tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After having played for 91 minutes, Lazaro Clos managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. El Kiwy Mecanico's supporters crossed their fingers, but Lazaro Clos was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Noel Seide made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Juan-Alfredo Vuelta in the 98th minute of play.
