The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Tudor Buga during the 9th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to FC Truseni getting a freekick after 9 minutes play. Tudor Buga hit a great ball. Anibal Aritza showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristian Sancho in the 10th minute of the match. When FC Truseni's Dorel Cretu in the 18th minute got a chance for a shot 18th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Ecuador's goalie prevented a goal. 21 minutes into the game, Ecuador's Daniel Zorita nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Anibal Aritza made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. In the 26th minute, Teodor Cornea ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Julio Vera was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-1. FC Truseni's Anibal Aritza played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristian Sancho in the 31st minute of play. 33 minutes into the match, Dorel Cretu dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Julio Vera, 3-1. Anibal Aritza took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cristian Sancho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Cristian Sancho came up free with the goalie in the 39th minute, the Ecuador fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cristian Sancho couldn't finish the play. Dorel Cretus short, quick shot in the 42ndth minute got Julio Vera to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. In the 46th minute Daniel Zorita shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Anibal Aritza saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-1 at half-time.

In the 60th minute the ball was on its way in behind FC Truseni's goalkeeper Anibal Aritza, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Daniel Zorita fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Anibal Aritza having to interfere. In the 63rd match minute, FC Truseni was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tudor Buga to maneuver through the defense. 64 minutes into the match, FC Truseni's goalkeeper Anibal Aritza had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Cristian Sancho. FC Truseni's Sandu Perju was substituted for Tudor Buga. FC Truseni's Eugen Tabãrã was substituted for Radu Briceag. If Daniel Zorita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Dorel Cretu in the 81st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Julio Vera saved Ecuador from getting behind. Sandu Perju kicked well hit freekick during the 82nd minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Daniel Zorita got free with Anibal Aritza in the 85th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Cristian Sancho might have been able to make a better finish in the 88th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Anibal Aritza. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Cristian Sancho ran back to his position shaking his head. Cristian Sancho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 88th minute. Anibal Aritza tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from George Pãduret in the 90th minute of the match. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by George Pãduret in the 91st minute of play. FC Truseni's Anibal Aritza proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 93rd minute of the match, managed to save FC Truseni from getting a goal against them. In the 94th match minute, Ecuador was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Felix Montenegro to maneuver through the defense. The FC Truseni players were eager to celebrate when the final whistle sounded. They had somehow managed to win, even though the away team had held the majority of the possession.
