Luis Andino recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 40th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Yiğit Ömer got free with Julio Vera in the 48th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Yasin Yücelen, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 56th minute, Agustín Saelices hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 58 minutes Ecuador's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Mehmet Ediz Tumbay who took care of the corner kick. After a rather tough play, 19☆GÖZTEPE☆25's Rauf Cesman got a free kick in the 62nd minute. Daniel Zorita could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 67th minute of the match, but Çetin Gürgan made a huge save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Yiğit Ömer in the 69th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 19☆GÖZTEPE☆25's Çetin Gürgan played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luis Andino in the 70th minute of play. During this time Ecuador's players had a chance to rest. 78 minutes into the match, Ecuador's Daniel Zorita sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Çetin Gürgan narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 82nd minute of the match, Daniel Zorita got a very nice opportunity to score, but Çetin Gürgan was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post.
