The wind increased when Joel Gaona made the kick off in the second half. After some careless play in the Mexico defense, Nilmar Foxgaard kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Dante Lacasa. The Mexico fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Dante Lacasa should have stopped the shot. The crowd rose to their feet as Mexico's Joel Gaona slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Ciro Terra. That made the score 2-2 after 55 minutes of play.
