The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 4thth minute of the game David Brochu who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 6th minute Lawrence Hopson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonathan Ferrant saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when David Brochu got free with Jonathan Ferrant in the 7th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. David Brochu struck a weak shot in the 15th minute. Jonathan Ferrant didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for AFC Richmond. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by David Brochu in the 21st minute of play. David Brochu struck a weak shot in the 30th minute. Jonathan Ferrant didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for AFC Richmond. After 31 played minutes AFC Richmond got a freekick which was hit by Ali Can. A collision led to AFC Richmond getting a freekick after 33 minutes play. Carlos Jerardo hit a great ball. Jose Correa kicked well hit freekick during the 38th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Levi Cronin in the 40th minute of play forced Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Venezuela getting a freekick after 46 minutes play. Rigoberto Mina hit a great ball. Filip Mladenovič's long shot made the audience stand up and applaude when it rumbled by Jonathan Ferrant on his right side and into the goal. 47 minutes into the game it was 1-1. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell David Brochu to make the kick off. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by David Brochu in the 53rd minute of play. Jonathan Ferrant showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Irmantas Zenkevičius, who was totally free with the ball in the 59th minute. Jonathan Ferrant made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Karol Dankowski in the 72nd minute of play. The audience was convinced that David Brochu's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jonathan Ferrant was relentless in the 73rd minute of the game. After 75 minutes of play, AFC Richmond's Irmantas Zenkevičius made it 3-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Jonathan Ferrant was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 77th match minute, Venezuela was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jonathan Venegas to maneuver through the defense. In the 80th minute, David Brochu ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Jonathan Ferrant was frozen by the shot and now it was 4-1. Irmantas Zenkevičius sent away a hard shot on goal in the 86th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Irmantas Zenkevičius scored 5-1 in the 89th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Jonathan Ferrant, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Jonathan Ferrant showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from David Brochu in the 93rd minute of the match. A collision led to Venezuela getting a freekick after 94 minutes play. Patricio Costa hit a great ball. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. AFC Richmond had played much better football throughout.
