The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Ricardo Zorita stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Sérgio Aguero's shot from short distance in the 4th minute. In the 19th match minute, El Salvador was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lorenzo Yepes to maneuver through the defense. 21 minutes into the match, El Salvador's goal looked a bit too open when Sérgio Aguero came free, but Ricardo Zorita reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 23 minutes into the match, Sérgio Aguero had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Ricardo Zorita. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-4 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Sérgio Aguero stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. POSSE 1911 FC's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
