Gong Ying Zheng made an important save on a dangerous shot by Julian Murillo in the 3rd minute. In the 16th minute Gusztáv Bács shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rolando Noboa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 20 played minutes VC zoetwater got a freekick which was hit by Gusztáv Bács. VC zoetwater's Gong Ying Zheng proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 23rd minute of the match, managed to save VC zoetwater from getting a goal against them. A sloppy throw-in by Dariusz Zembrzuski in the 27th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Peru's Eliseo Mina. Gong Ying Zheng made a fantastic save in the 28th minute, when Julian Murillo sent off a good shot on target. After a rather tough play, VC zoetwater's Patrik Olsson got a free kick in the 31st minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Julian Murillo in the 34th minute of play forced VC zoetwater's goalkeeper Gong Ying Zheng to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 37 minutes VC zoetwater's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Luz Tejedor who took care of the corner kick. In the 40th minute Gusztáv Bács shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rolando Noboa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Gong Ying Zheng was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Julian Murillo showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-0 in the 43 minute of play.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Bernardo Sharkin stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Gong Ying Zheng made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Julian Murillo in the 51st minute of play. 54 minutes into the match, Eliseo Mina had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Gong Ying Zheng. VC zoetwater's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Eliseo Mina was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. Gong Ying Zheng showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Milagros Fraga, who was totally free with the ball in the 57th minute. Gong Ying Zheng showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Julian Murillo in the 59th minute of the match. Gong Ying Zheng took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eliseo Mina, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 62nd minute the ball was on its way in behind VC zoetwater's goalkeeper Gong Ying Zheng, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 65th minute, Dariusz Zembrzuski hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 68 minutes into the match, VC zoetwater's goal looked a bit too open when Julian Murillo came free, but Gong Ying Zheng reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 69 minutes had been played when some careless play by VC zoetwater's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Luz Tejedor was slow to take the kick. During this time Peru's players had a chance to rest. The corner led Peru's Luz Tejedor to fire away a dangerous shot which Gong Ying Zheng despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. The crowd rose to their feet as VC zoetwater's Bernardo Sharkin slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Rolando Noboa. That made the score 2-1 after 73 minutes of play. VC zoetwater's Fabien Pardons was substituted for Gusztáv Bács.
