After 16 minutes of play, Ecuador's Daniel Zorita made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Bogdan Kornatowski was left in no man's land by his defense there! After a rather tough play, Peluchita Fc's Marciano Obeko got a free kick in the 21st minute. The Peluchita Fc fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. Ecuador's supporters rose to their feet, but Daniel Zorita was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Bogdan Kornatowski breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 42nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Peluchita Fc's goalkeeper Bogdan Kornatowski, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eulalio Abaunza in the 44th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Daniel Zorita was the one to do the kick off. Julio Vera was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Ecuador played a much better game than Peluchita Fc and deserved their victory. The Peluchita Fc players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
