Spectators: 43 (Terracing: 33, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Agustín Saelices in the 11th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Miltos Kastanis saved Argonautes Irakliou from getting behind. Daniel Zorita received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 16th minute. Miltos Kastanis tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Daniel Zorita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Daniel Zorita sent away a hard shot on goal in the 23rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 25th match minute, Ecuador was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luis Andino to maneuver through the defense. When Markos Santamouris fell near the penalty area in the 36th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Argonautes Irakliou's protests and gave Markos Santamouris a yellow card for diving instead. After 36 played minutes Argonautes Irakliou got a freekick which was hit by Markos Santamouris. After having played for 39 minutes, Daniel Zorita managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ecuador's supporters crossed their fingers, but Daniel Zorita was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Nikos Papafotakis came free with the goalkeeper in the 45th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Julio Vera could save by the left post. Julio Vera made an important save on a dangerous shot by Markos Santamouris in the 46th minute. After the first half Ecuador were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Cristian Sancho recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 51st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 53 minutes into the game, Daniel Zorita recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Miltos Kastanis. Daniel Zorita showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-3. In the 73rd minute of the match Ecuador got a corner. Argonautes Irakliou's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Daniel Zorita ran over to the corner to take the kick. Daniel Zorita was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. The audience thought a goal was coming when Daniel Zorita got free with Miltos Kastanis in the 83rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. If Daniel Zorita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Ecuador booed when Argonautes Irakliou was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 91 match minutes in a wonderful position. Notis Klitorakis didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Luis Andino had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Ecuador played a much better game than Argonautes Irakliou and deserved their victory. The Argonautes Irakliou players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
