Daniel Zorita was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 18th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Rigoberto Ceandro could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 23rd minute of the match, but Julio Vera made a huge save. Bumin Mete's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Julio Vera read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 29th minute of play. After 30 minutes, Daniel Zorita made it 0-2 with a short kick to the right side. NYC United's Domingo Bide tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Cristian Sancho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Domingo Bide showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Daniel Zorita, who was totally free with the ball in the 38th minute. Juan Sebastián Puig kicked well hit freekick during the 39th minute of the match. Marcelo Gaspard kicked well hit freekick during the 40th minute of the match. Ali Cengiz Peykan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 42nd minute. Julio Vera tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bumin Mete in the 44th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristian Sancho in the 45th minute of play forced NYC United's goalkeeper Domingo Bide to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After taking down the ball on Ecuador's corner Daniel Zorita fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Domingo Bide quite easily take care of the ball. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Daniel Zorita to strike the kick off in the second half. NYC United's Domingo Bide proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 55th minute of the match, managed to save NYC United from getting a goal against them. Felix Montenegro hit a great freekick 56 minutes into the match. Agustín Saelices sent away a hard shot on goal in the 64th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bumin Mete, who was totally free with the ball in the 68th minute. A collision led to Ecuador getting a freekick after 70 minutes play. Juan Sebastián Puig hit a great ball. After a rather tough play, NYC United's 肖阳夕 got a free kick in the 72nd minute. After 85 played minutes NYC United got a freekick which was hit by Bumin Mete. After a defensive mix-up in Ecuador's zone, Rigoberto Ceandro stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Julio Vera came out of the goal and Rigoberto Ceandro tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bumin Mete in the 89th minute of play. After 94 played minutes NYC United got a freekick which was hit by Bumin Mete. Rigoberto Ceandro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 98th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Julio Vera having to interfere. The NYC United fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Ecuador were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
