Pedro Manzanares showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kaido Jaas, who was totally free with the ball in the 7th minute. In the 10th minute the ball was on its way in behind Colombia's goalkeeper Pedro Manzanares, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Kaido Jaas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pedro Manzanares having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 30th minute, Hardi Lind managed to get in a good position for a shot. FC Dundee's supporters rose to their feet, but Hardi Lind was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Pedro Manzanares breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Ain Averin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Abram Sarmiento in the 32nd minute of play. After a rather tough play, Colombia's Orlando Tafalla got a free kick in the 35th minute. After 36 minutes, Antonio Indiano mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Colombia and the FC Dundee players grew even worse after the yellow card. Hardi Lind placed the ball on the penalty spot and got himself ready to shoot. Post out! If Kaido Jaas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Colombia's Pedro Manzanares played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kaido Jaas in the 39th minute of play. Kaido Jaas took the ball and in the 41 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Pedro Manzanares. Pedro Manzanares dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Santino Seco in the 44th minute of play forced FC Dundee's goalkeeper Ain Averin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. FC Dundee made a substitution. Arno Luuk replaced Hardi Lind. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Abram Sarmiento stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. With his leg Ain Averin managed to avoid a goal in the 52ndth minute, when Colombia's Axel Montenegro fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. After some careless play in the Colombia defense, Arno Luuk kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Pedro Manzanares. The Colombia fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Pedro Manzanares should have stopped the shot. 61 minutes into the game, Martin Moonen threw the ball into play from the sideline. Colombia's Kevin Mastache quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Axel Montenegro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Axel Montenegro could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 61st minute of the match, but Ain Averin made a huge save. In the 63rd minute Arno Luuk shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pedro Manzanares saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Pedro Manzanares showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Arno Luuk, who was totally free with the ball in the 65th minute. Colombia made a substitution. Abram Secada replaced Axel Montenegro. Samuel Navarro hit a great freekick 70 minutes into the match. 71 minutes had been played when some careless play by Colombia's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Arvo Kena was slow to take the kick. During this time FC Dundee's players had a chance to rest. Arno Luuk recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 73rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. A throw-in in the 82nd minute of the game was made by Orlando Tafalla with Santino Seco as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. Pedro Manzanares made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Arno Luuk in the 83rd minute of play. Abram Secada might have been able to make a better finish in the 86th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ain Averin. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Abram Secada ran back to his position shaking his head. FC Dundee's Ain Averin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Santino Seco in the 89th minute of play. With an all-out effort, Colombia's Ain Averin threw himself towards the right post 92 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Ignacio Mastache, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. 93 minutes into the match, FC Dundee's goalkeeper Ain Averin had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Abram Secada. There was no doubt that FC Dundee were the better team. FC Dundee's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
