When the match had gone on for 4 minutes, Rene Rostholm took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Jonathan Ferrant to make any attempt to save it. The supporters of Venezuela booed when Randers A.F.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 7 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sigismund Ravnskjold didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 8th minute Tomas Illescas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nichlas Vesterdahl saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 10 played minutes Venezuela got a freekick which was hit by Patricio Costa. Jonathan Ferrant made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. Rene Rostholm could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 23rd minute of the match, but Jonathan Ferrant made a huge save. Jonathan Ferrant came out of the goal in the 27th minute to try and stop a shot by Randers A.F.C.'s Rene Rostholm. But to his dismay, Rene Rostholm quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-0. After 31 played minutes Rene Rostholm rounded Venezuela's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 4-0. 34 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Rene Rostholm. Guillermo Mariano's late challenge caught a Randers A.F.C.'s player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Guillermo Mariano helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Venezuela's Guillermo Mariano got a free kick in the 35th minute. Jonathan Ferrant showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nik Frisendal, who was totally free with the ball in the 43rd minute. 46 minutes into the match, Rene Rostholm had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. Venezuela's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Rene Rostholm was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 5-0. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Tomas Illescas made a kick off. A collision led to Venezuela getting a freekick after 52 minutes play. Alex Chicote hit a great ball. After having played for 56 minutes, Rene Rostholm managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Randers A.F.C.'s supporters crossed their fingers, but Rene Rostholm was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Jonathan Ferrant showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rene Rostholm, who was totally free with the ball in the 58th minute. Jonathan Ferrant didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Rene Rostholm went, in the 59th minute, to the upper right corner, 7-0 was the resulting score. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Randers A.F.C. had played much better football throughout.
