Gong Ying Zheng showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Julian Murillo, who was totally free with the ball in the 15th minute. 17 minutes into the game, Anthony Alvarado was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Peru's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave VC zoetwater the free kick. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 17th minute of the game. One of Peru:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of VC zoetwater:s goal. The crowd rose to their feet as Gusztáv Bács kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Rolando Noboa. That made the score 1-1 in the 18 minute of play. If Eliseo Mina had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Milagros Fraga in the 29th minute of play forced VC zoetwater's goalkeeper Gong Ying Zheng to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. İbrahim Efe Akarsu in the 32ndth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal.
