Milagros Fraga kicked well hit freekick during the 17th minute of the match. Alonso Berganza made in the 19th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Anarko Kirchnerista's Maximo Martxot. Gong Chao Ke's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Rolando Noboa read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 22nd minute of play. 27 minutes into the game, Gong Chao Ke cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. Rolando Noboa was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 37th minute the ball was on its way in behind Anarko Kirchnerista's goalkeeper Lino Ibar, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Anarko Kirchnerista's attentive Maximo Martxot managed to snatch the ball when Alonso Berganza made a throw-in in the 44th minute of the game. After a rather tough play, Anarko Kirchnerista's Hieronim Bienienda got a free kick in the 46th minute. In the 47th minute of the match Luz Tejedor shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Lino Ibar showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Peru were awarded a corner in the 48th minute after Anarko Kirchnerista's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Luz Tejedor took the corner. Peru's Luz Tejedor was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Lino Ibar in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Gong Chao Ke to make the kick off. In the 53rd minute, Agne Vedholm hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Gong Chao Ke had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Lino Ibar made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luz Tejedor in the 64th minute of play. Anarko Kirchnerista's Lino Ibar played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Julian Murillo in the 68th minute of play. Anarko Kirchnerista's Romeo Sustrai was substituted for Gong Chao Ke. Peru's Eliseo Mina managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Sixto Hotz in the 71 minute of the game. Agne Vedholm hit a great freekick 72 minutes into the match. After some careless play in the Peru defense, Per-Erik Vase kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Rolando Noboa. The Peru fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Rolando Noboa should have stopped the shot. Lino Ibar showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luz Tejedor, who was totally free with the ball in the 78th minute.
