Bobi Mitakev's late challenge caught a Panama's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Bobi Mitakev helped the player get up and apologised. In the 18th minute, Bobi Mitakev hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kliment Staykov in the 21st minute of play forced Panama's goalkeeper Marcos Cotilla to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Thanks to some nice moves Abraham Alguacil could shoot a difficult shot in the 22nd minute, which Virgílio Falcão however easily saved by the left post. Through an outstanding action, after 23 minutes, Virgílio Falcão successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. After 23 minutes, Ove Eklund mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Вихър Айтос and the Panama players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a defensive mix-up in Panama's zone, Asgar Tilberg stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Marcos Cotilla came out of the goal and Asgar Tilberg tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 61st match minute, Panama was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dylan Sarmiento to maneuver through the defense. Virgílio Falcão showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Abraham Alguacil in the 64th minute of the match. 65 minutes into the match, Panama's goalkeeper Marcos Cotilla had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ove Eklund. In the 67th minute Tomas Berganza shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Virgílio Falcão saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 68 minutes into the game, Panama's Abraham Alguacil nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Virgílio Falcão made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. After having played for 72 minutes, Abraham Alguacil managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Panama's supporters crossed their fingers, but Abraham Alguacil was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 76th minute Panama were awarded a corner. Abraham Alguacil went to the cornerflag to take it.
