Jenson Smith's late challenge caught a FK Mintis Vilnius's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Mustafa Kemal made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-3. After 42 minutes of play, USA's Cassius Byrne made it 1-4 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Mustafa Kemal was left in no man's land by his defense there! USA's Marco Day proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 48th minute of the match, managed to save USA from getting a goal against them. The FK Mintis Vilnius players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. USA were winning 1-4.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Cassius Byrne to make the kick off. 63 minutes into the match, FK Mintis Vilnius's goalkeeper Mustafa Kemal had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Cassius Byrne. Mustafa Kemal made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sam Campbell in the 91st minute of play. In the 93rdth minute of the game Khalid Parry who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but FK Mintis Vilnius's Mustafa Kemal was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The FK Mintis Vilnius fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. USA were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
