Śląsk Bytom's Antoni Brama played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alberto Tafalla in the 7th minute of play. 9 minutes had been played when some careless play by Śląsk Bytom's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Joel Gaona was slow to take the kick. During this time Mexico's players had a chance to rest. The corner ended in Lautaro Mancebo almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Śląsk Bytom's Antoni Brama did a great save. When Joel Gaona came up free with the goalie in the 13th minute, the Mexico fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Joel Gaona couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lautaro Mancebo in the 18th minute of play forced Śląsk Bytom's goalkeeper Antoni Brama to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Antoni Brama didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Lautaro Mancebo went, in the 18th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. Śląsk Bytom's attentive Sivert Eliasson managed to snatch the ball when Leonardo Leoz made a throw-in in the 27th minute of the game. Antoni Brama stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Alberto Tafalla's shot from short distance in the 36th minute. Śląsk Bytom's Sivert Eliasson managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Leonardo Leoz in the 38 minute of the game. In the 39th minute of the match, Fevzi Baykara tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Dante Lacasa saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. After 41 played minutes Mexico got a freekick which was hit by Macos Graciani. Fevzi Baykara received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 43rd minute. Dante Lacasa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 45 minutes into the match, Mexico's goal looked a bit too open when Fevzi Baykara came free, but Dante Lacasa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Disappointed in the 0-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.
