An unexpectedly hard shot by Adil Magaud in the 28th minute of play forced Paraguay's goalkeeper Jacobo Nores to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Jaime Pardo fell near the penalty area in the 43rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Paraguay's protests and gave Jaime Pardo a yellow card for diving instead. In the 43rd minute, Jaime Pardo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Jacobo Nores showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Benoît Lamarre in the 48th minute of the match. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

In the 54th minute, Hector Covarrubias hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A collision led to Paraguay getting a freekick after 55 minutes play. Xavier Zoido hit a great ball. Benoît Lamarre took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 56th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Jacobo Nores. Paraguay's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. In the 56th match minute Benoît Lamarre ran free in the middle of the field and shot a long shot which scored behind a totally surprised Jacobo Nores. 0-1. Jacobo Nores showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Flavian Garcon, who was totally free with the ball in the 80th minute. After 81 played minutes Paraguay got a freekick which was hit by Alan Campos. In the 83rd minute, Jaime Pardo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Jacobo Nores was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Flavian Garcon showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-3 in the 85 minute of play. In the 89th minute, Hector Covarrubias got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When the final whistle went the supporters of Rathmore Lime Tree were delighted that their team had defeated the much more dominant Paraguay side.
