An unexpectedly hard shot by Eliseo Noboa in the 5th minute of play forced Rathmore Lime Tree's goalkeeper Sofyane Valognes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Benoît Lamarre came up free with the goalie in the 12th minute, the Rathmore Lime Tree fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Benoît Lamarre couldn't finish the play. The supporters of Rathmore Lime Tree booed when Costa Rica was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 15 match minutes in a wonderful position. Axel Tasis didn't get a good kick on the ball. Benito Sanz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Flavian Garcon, who was totally free with the ball in the 25th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 28th minute, Lautaro Puig managed to get in a good position for a shot. Costa Rica's supporters rose to their feet, but Lautaro Puig was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Sofyane Valognes breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Benito Sanz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Flavian Garcon, who was totally free with the ball in the 30th minute. In the 32nd minute Hervé Annette shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Benito Sanz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Abel Carballo kicked well hit freekick during the 33rd minute of the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Flavian Garcon in the 35th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Benito Sanz saved Costa Rica from getting behind. In the 42nd minute, Lautaro Puig hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 43rd minute Flavian Garcon shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Benito Sanz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 47 minutes into the match, Costa Rica's goalkeeper Benito Sanz had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Flavian Garcon. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Axel Tasis stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Lautaro Puig fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sofyane Valognes having to interfere. In the 56th minute Flavian Garcon shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Benito Sanz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Lautaro Puig hit a great freekick 61 minutes into the match. In the 68th minute, Axel Tasis reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Sofyane Valognes. The goal made the score 0-1. In the 71st minute, Gabin Lièvin hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Costa Rica's Lautaro Puig got a good chance for a goal in the 78th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Benito Sanz stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Flavian Garcon's shot from short distance in the 95th minute. Although Rathmore Lime Tree had been in control for most of the match, Costa Rica still came away with the win.
