Dylan Boegaert was slow to take the kick. During this time Topsail's players had a chance to rest. 13 minutes into the match, Chile's goalkeeper Thiago Pliego had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Luis Fernández. After some careless play in the Topsail defense, Mariano Lacasa kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Bill Carmichael. The Topsail fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Bill Carmichael should have stopped the shot. Mariano Lacasa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 19th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 29th minute of the match Guillermo Fontirroig sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Bill Carmichael skillfully saved the ball. 31 minutes into the match, Julio Aguayo notched a goal, 1-3, to the right of Topsail's Bill Carmichael. Bill Carmichael was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

With a little luck, Topsail's Bill Carmichael got control of the ball when Julio Aguayo tried to sneak it across the goal line. 52 minutes into the match, Chile's goal looked a bit too open when Dawid Kochowski came free, but Thiago Pliego reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some careless play in the Topsail defense, Julio Aguayo kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Bill Carmichael. Thiago Pliego showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dawid Kochowski, who was totally free with the ball in the 74th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Julio Aguayo in the 77th minute of play forced Topsail's goalkeeper Bill Carmichael to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 83rdth minute of the game Orlando Casaus who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Topsail's Bill Carmichael was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 95th minute Wendell Conn shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Thiago Pliego saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
