Gaudencio Flor was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Gaudencio Flor showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Francisco Seco, who was totally free with the ball in the 33rd minute. Alfonso Amato was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 35 minutes into the match. In the 34th minute, one of El Tiki-Tiki de Cappa:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for El Tiki-Tiki de Cappa. When the match had gone on for 44 minutes, Maximiliano Escribano put it in 0-6 from a short distance just to the right of Gaudencio Flor. Gaudencio Flor took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Francisco Seco, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-6 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Arnaldo Firman to make the kick off.
