Iurie Chiriacescu was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Guga Trancoso fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dante Lacasa having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 38th minute, Guga Trancoso managed to get in a good position for a shot. PIAUÍ FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Guga Trancoso was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Dante Lacasa breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Dante Lacasa made a fantastic save in the 43rd minute, when Mete Gøl sent off a good shot on target. Alberto Tafalla fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Iurie Chiriacescu having to interfere. Mexico's Dante Lacasa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Guga Trancoso in the 47th minute of play. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-1 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Baturhan Oytun stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Lautaro Mancebo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 53rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of Mexico booed when PIAUÍ FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 66 match minutes in a wonderful position. Víktor Santos didn't get a good kick on the ball. 68 minutes into the game, Demis Katsarolidis was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. PIAUÍ FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Mexico the free kick. After 68 played minutes PIAUÍ FC got a freekick which was hit by Demis Katsarolidis. PIAUÍ FC made a substitution. Juninho Freitas replaced Baturhan Oytun. PIAUÍ FC's Vladimir de Sena was substituted for Mete Gøl. A well done corner resulted in Luca Zorita drilling the ball in to score 2-3 behind PIAUÍ FC's goalkeeper. After some fancy dribbling in the 77th minute, Luca Zorita managed to get in a good position for a shot. Mexico's supporters rose to their feet, but Luca Zorita was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Iurie Chiriacescu breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 82 minutes into the match, Guga Trancoso notched a goal, 3-4, to the right of Mexico's Dante Lacasa. Dante Lacasa was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 86 minutes into the match, Mexico's goal looked a bit too open when Juninho Freitas came free, but Dante Lacasa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some careless play in the Mexico defense, Juninho Freitas kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Dante Lacasa. The Mexico fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Dante Lacasa should have stopped the shot. When PIAUÍ FC's Juninho Freitas in the 90th minute got a chance for a shot 90th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Mexico's goalie prevented a goal. After taking down the ball on Mexico's corner Joel Gaona fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Iurie Chiriacescu quite easily take care of the ball. Mexico were disappointed that they only managed a draw, even though they felt themselves to be the better team.
