Spectators: 40 (Terracing: 31, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) INTER FC's Emerson Cruz started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Benito Sanz was a little too slow when Marco Seco got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 4th minute. The score was now 1-0. Marco Seco's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Benito Sanz read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 10th minute of play. When the match had gone on for 14 minutes, Marco Seco took a quick shot and it went in 2-0 without a chance for Benito Sanz to make any attempt to save it. Marco Seco blasted a shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Benito Sanz having to make a save. Benito Sanz made an important save on a dangerous shot by Marco Seco in the 19th minute. If Emerson Cruz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. INTER FC's Kléber do Valle quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Hugo Ferrant, made in the 25th minute of the game. In the 25th minute, Hugo Ferrant hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 26 minutes into the game, Axel Tasis was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Costa Rica's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave INTER FC the free kick. Marco Seco struck a weak shot in the 29th minute. Benito Sanz didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for INTER FC. The audience thought a goal was coming when Marco Seco got free with Benito Sanz in the 31st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Benito Sanz was a little too slow when Marco Seco got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 33rd minute. The score was now 3-0. The crowd rose to their feet as INTER FC's Marco Seco slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Benito Sanz. That made the score 4-0 after 35 minutes of play. Axel Tasis hit a great freekick 38 minutes into the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 39th minute, Marco Seco managed to get in a good position for a shot. INTER FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Marco Seco was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Benito Sanz breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 41st minute, Marco Seco made a precise shot to the right of Benito Sanz. Costa Rica's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 5-0. A collision led to INTER FC getting a freekick after 47 minutes play. Emerson Cruz hit a great ball.

The wind increased when Axel Tasis made the kick off in the second half. Benito Sanz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Emerson Cruz in the 53rd minute of the match. In the 54th minute of the match INTER FC got a corner. Costa Rica's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Emerson Cruz ran over to the corner to take the kick. Benito Sanz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Marco Seco, who was totally free with the ball in the 58th minute. Eliseo Noboa hit a great freekick 59 minutes into the match. If Marco Seco had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Mandi Oca struck a weak shot in the 65th minute. Benito Sanz didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for INTER FC. 67 minutes into the game, Hortêncio Linhares cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 7-0. Benito Sanz was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 71st minute, Hortêncio Linhares left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The INTER FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 8-0. In the 73rd match minute, Costa Rica was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alan Moruga to maneuver through the defense. The throw-in from Hugo Ferrant in the 77th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by INTER FC's Kléber do Valle. After 80 played minutes Costa Rica got a freekick which was hit by Hugo Ferrant. Bruno Alves's late challenge caught a Costa Rica's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Bruno Alves helped the player get up and apologised. Bruno Alves kicked well hit freekick during the 83rd minute of the match. Leon Kosmatka made a fantastic save in the 85th minute, when Lautaro Puig sent off a good shot on target. After 86 played minutes INTER FC got a freekick which was hit by Bruno Alves.
