When Sporting Angola's Ubaldo Goyanes in the 25th minute got a chance for a shot 25th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. When Eliseo Mina came up free with the goalie in the 40th minute, the Peru fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Eliseo Mina couldn't finish the play. 43 minutes into the match, Ubaldo Goyanes dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Rolando Noboa, 2-0. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Ubaldo Goyanes made a kick off. Julian Murillo struck a weak shot in the 53rd minute. Freddy Sein didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Peru. The audience thought a goal was coming when Julian Murillo got free with Freddy Sein in the 58th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 62nd minute Julian Murillo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Freddy Sein saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to Sporting Angola getting a freekick after 64 minutes play. Özbek Savtur hit a great ball. Freddy Sein made a fantastic save in the 67th minute, when Luz Tejedor sent off a good shot on target. Freddy Sein made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eliseo Mina in the 75th minute of play. Sporting Angola's Tomas Gartzen was substituted for Ubaldo Goyanes. Peru were awarded a corner in the 78th minute after Sporting Angola's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Luz Tejedor took the corner. Peru's Luz Tejedor was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Freddy Sein in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Emmanuel Reyes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Freddy Sein having to interfere. Peru made a substitution. Adam Pyczkowski made in the 83rd minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Peru's Emmanuel Reyes. 87 minutes into the match, Sporting Angola's goal looked a bit too open when Rafael Gallo came free, but Freddy Sein reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Emmanuel Reyes hit a great freekick 94 minutes into the match. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Sporting Angola fans cheered their team off the field, for while Peru had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
