Felix Montenegro could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 27th minute of the match, but Denimir Bebin made a huge save. Daniel Zorita came free with the goalkeeper in the 28th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Denimir Bebin could save by the left post. Daniel Zorita recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 29th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 31st minute Daniel Zorita shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Denimir Bebin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cido Fernandez in the 37th minute of the match. In the 39th minute, Vladislav Dzhalev made a precise shot to the right of Julio Vera. Ecuador's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. İlbey Denizalp received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 43rd minute. Julio Vera tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 44 played minutes Ecuador got a freekick which was hit by Agustín Saelices. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Vladislav Dzhalev made the kick off in the second half. In the 51st minute, Cido Fernandez got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 55 minutes into the match, Cristian Sancho notched a goal, 1-2, to the right of EK's Denimir Bebin. Denimir Bebin was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 58th minute, Vladislav Dzhalev left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The EK fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-3. An unexpectedly hard shot by Daniel Zorita in the 62nd minute of play forced EK's goalkeeper Denimir Bebin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to EK getting a freekick after 64 minutes play. Beloslav Yachkov hit a great ball. In the 65th minute of the match Daniel Zorita sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Denimir Bebin skillfully saved the ball. Denimir Bebin showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Daniel Zorita, who was totally free with the ball in the 66th minute. In the 70th minute Vladislav Dzhalev shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. EK's Denimir Bebin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristian Sancho in the 73rd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Daniel Zorita in the 77th minute of play forced EK's goalkeeper Denimir Bebin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. İlbey Denizalp kicked well hit freekick during the 87th minute of the match. Cristian Sancho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Denimir Bebin having to interfere. Felix Montes hit a great freekick 94 minutes into the match. The EK supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing EK would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
