With a couple of smart ball manuevers Gündüz Dirican in the 8th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jonathan Ferrant saved Venezuela from getting behind. Gökçe Sabri kicked well hit freekick during the 12th minute of the match. If Tomas Illescas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the match had gone on for 23 minutes, Gündüz Dirican put it in 0-2 from a short distance just to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. The crowd rose to their feet as Tomas Illescas kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Cumhur Ulutan. That made the score 1-4 in the 35 minute of play. Jonathan Ferrant took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Baransel Ortan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Cumhur Ulutan showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Patricio Costa, who was totally free with the ball in the 44th minute. Jonathan Ferrant showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gündüz Dirican in the 45th minute of the match. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-4 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When Venezuela's Tomas Illescas in the 53rd minute got a chance for a shot 53rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye TRABZONSPOR's goalie prevented a goal. Tomas Illescas's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Cumhur Ulutan read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 57th minute of play. Venezuela's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Tomas Illescas in the 65th minute. After 65 played minutes Venezuela got a freekick which was hit by Jose Correa. Jose Correa stood ready after the free kick and tried to head the ball into the goal, but got pushed from behind by one of TRABZONSPOR's defenders and the ball went out. Venezuela appealed in vain for a penalty, the referee looked over at the linesman, but the flag stayed down. No Penalty. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Tomas Illescas in the 69th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Cumhur Ulutan prevented the ball from getting in the gole. TRABZONSPOR's Doğan Özsen got a good chance for a goal in the 70th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 75th minute Gündüz Dirican shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonathan Ferrant saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, TRABZONSPOR's Gökçe Sabri got a free kick in the 80th minute. Jonathan Ferrant made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gündüz Dirican in the 84th minute of play. 86 minutes into the match, TRABZONSPOR's goal looked a bit too open when Tomas Illescas came free, but Cumhur Ulutan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Gökçe Sabri kicked well hit freekick during the 90th minute of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Gündüz Dirican in the 94th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jonathan Ferrant prevented the ball from getting in the gole. TRABZONSPOR played a much better game than Venezuela and deserved their victory. The Venezuela players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
