The supporters of Panama booed when Elite Team was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 7 match minutes in a wonderful position. Laércio Leão didn't get a good kick on the ball. Panama's Marcos Cotilla played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cheb Saïd-Guerni in the 11th minute of play. 15 minutes into the match, Panama's goalkeeper Marcos Cotilla had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Cheb Saïd-Guerni. An unexpectedly hard shot by Isidoro Sarmiento in the 18th minute of play forced Elite Team's goalkeeper 武青霖 to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Elite Team getting a freekick after 21 minutes play. Laércio Leão hit a great ball. 武青霖 made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tomas Berganza in the 23rd minute of play. If Tomas Berganza had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 武青霖 took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Miguel Miralles, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 34th minute, Abraham Alguacil made a precise shot to the right of 武青霖. Elite Team's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. Cheb Saïd-Guerni succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 1-1 in the 38th playminute. If Cheb Saïd-Guerni had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Fermin Duardo hit a great freekick 45 minutes into the match. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Tomas Berganza to strike the kick off in the second half. Tomas Berganza sent away a hard shot on goal in the 53rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Tomas Berganza received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 54th minute. 武青霖 tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 56 minutes into the match, Tomas Berganza notched a goal, 1-2, to the right of Elite Team's 武青霖. 武青霖 was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Felipe Ros kicked well hit freekick during the 59th minute of the match. In the 62nd minute, Bernabe Cambiasso hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 67 minutes into the match, Elite Team's goal looked a bit too open when Tomas Berganza came free, but 武青霖 reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 70 minutes into the game, Juan Ibar cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-2. Marcos Cotilla was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Elite Team's 武青霖 played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tomas Berganza in the 75th minute of play. Bernabe Cambiasso kicked well hit freekick during the 78th minute of the match. In the 79th minute, Isidoro Sarmiento got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 81 minutes into the match, Panama's Tomas Berganza sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that 武青霖 narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After 83 played minutes Elite Team got a freekick which was hit by Cheb Saïd-Guerni. Aaron Barrios hit a great freekick 87 minutes into the match. In the 91st minute of the match Elite Team got a corner. Panama's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Diego Cabrera ran over to the corner to take the kick. Bruno Kiener was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. 武青霖 took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tomas Berganza, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Tomas Berganza sent away a hard shot on goal in the 96th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Panama's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
