Cristo Colas showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lautaro Mancebo in the 8th minute of the match. In the 9th minute Mexico were awarded a corner. Joel Gaona went to the cornerflag to take it. Lautaro Mancebo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 15th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 19th minute, Joel Gaona made a precise shot to the right of Cristo Colas. Almeyra F.C.'s defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. Dante Lacasa didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Danilo Remir went, in the 23rd minute, to the upper right corner, 2-1 was the resulting score. In the 26th match minute, Almeyra F.C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Samuel Muno to maneuver through the defense. In the 28th minute Mexico were awarded a corner. Joel Gaona went to the cornerflag to take it. Dante Lacasa made an important save on a dangerous shot by Saverio Locaio in the 30th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Adan Otsoko got free with Dante Lacasa in the 46th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Alberto Tafalla received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 47th minute. Cristo Colas tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Joel Gaona fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cristo Colas having to interfere. After 55 played minutes Mexico got a freekick which was hit by Joel Gaona. With a little luck, Almeyra F.C.'s Cristo Colas got control of the ball when Lautaro Mancebo tried to sneak it across the goal line. Dante Lacasa stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Saverio Locaio's shot from short distance in the 67th minute. In the 71st minute, Mexico's Leonardo Leoz seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Leonardo Leoz the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Mexico protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Leonardo Leoz had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 70th minute of the game. One of Mexico:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Almeyra F.C.:s goal. In the 72nd minute there was a penalty for Almeyra F.C.. Victorio Sabino stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Dante Lacasa. 3-1. The supporters of Mexico booed when Almeyra F.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 80 match minutes in a wonderful position. Aaron Donostia didn't get a good kick on the ball. 83 minutes into the match, Almeyra F.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Luca Zorita came free, but Cristo Colas reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 87th minute, Aaron Donostia hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some careless play in the Almeyra F.C. defense, Luca Zorita kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Cristo Colas. The Almeyra F.C. fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Cristo Colas should have stopped the shot. After a defensive mix-up in Almeyra F.C.'s zone, Luca Zorita stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Cristo Colas came out of the goal and Luca Zorita tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Teo Chano sent away a hard shot on goal in the 94th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Alberto Tafalla had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 97th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The Almeyra F.C. players were eager to celebrate when the final whistle sounded. They had somehow managed to win, even though the away team had held the majority of the possession.
