Unai Sócrates started the match with the kick off. Fauna Utd made a substitution. Yuri Portugal replaced Lorenzo Garaona. Yuri Portugal could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 10th minute of the match, but Rolando Noboa made a huge save. Rolando Noboa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Karel Cromefeldt in the 11th minute of play. Octav Zdraşcu hit a great freekick 12 minutes into the match. Radamel Hendrickx showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Milagros Fraga in the 14th minute of the match. 19 minutes into the match, Fauna Utd's goal looked a bit too open when Luz Tejedor came free, but Radamel Hendrickx reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Julian Murillo might have been able to make a better finish in the 22nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Radamel Hendrickx. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Julian Murillo ran back to his position shaking his head. 27 minutes into the match, Julian Murillo notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of Fauna Utd's Radamel Hendrickx. Radamel Hendrickx was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 30 minutes into the match, Fauna Utd's Unai Sócrates sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Rolando Noboa narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Emmanuel Reyes hit a great freekick 31 minutes into the match. Dante Huts made in the 33rd minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Peru's Eliseo Mina. After 42 played minutes Peru got a freekick which was hit by Emmanuel Reyes. In the 43rd minute, 董文鹰 hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Fauna Utd's Radamel Hendrickx played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Julian Murillo in the 46th minute of play. 48 minutes into the game, Fauna Utd's Yuri Portugal nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Rolando Noboa made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-2. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-2.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Julian Murillo to make the kick off. Rolando Noboa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Unai Sócrates, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Radamel Hendrickx made a fantastic save in the 62nd minute, when Milagros Fraga sent off a good shot on target. In the 67th minute of the game Dante Huts made a throw-in which Unai Sócrates played forward. In the 69th minute Julian Murillo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Radamel Hendrickx saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Unai Sócrates fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 70th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rolando Noboa having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Peru's zone, Unai Sócrates stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Rolando Noboa came out of the goal and Unai Sócrates tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Julian Murillo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Emmanuel Reyes made in the 78th minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Milagros Fraga. Fauna Utd's Radamel Hendrickx proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 80th minute of the match, managed to save Fauna Utd from getting a goal against them. In the 80th minute, Julian Murillo reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Radamel Hendrickx. The goal made the score 1-3. In the 83rd minute, Julian Murillo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Peru's Rafael Gallo was substituted for Julian Murillo. Fauna Utd's Radamel Hendrickx proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 87th minute of the match, managed to save Fauna Utd from getting a goal against them. Peru were awarded a corner in the 90th minute after Fauna Utd's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Eliseo Mina took the corner. The corner led to Peru's Antonio Tenorio getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. Unai Sócrates sent away a hard shot on goal in the 96th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the match was over Peru could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Fauna Utd throughout the match.
