Spectators: 40 (Terracing: 31, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Omar Maju made the kick off which started today's match. After a defensive mix-up in Capdevilla's zone, Luis Andino stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Pastor Valery came out of the goal and Luis Andino tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 5 played minutes Capdevilla got a freekick which was hit by Adolfo Dolfo. Cristian Sancho took the ball and in the 14 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Pastor Valery. Pastor Valery dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. The supporters of Capdevilla booed when Ecuador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 18 match minutes in a wonderful position. Juan Sebastián Puig didn't get a good kick on the ball. Omar Maju blasted a shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Julio Vera having to make a save. Pastor Valery showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Daniel Zorita, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. Capdevilla's Pastor Valery played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Daniel Zorita in the 25th minute of play. Miguel Diagur's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Julio Vera read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 28th minute of play. Pastor Valery made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Daniel Zorita in the 34th minute of play. When Hector Berdoi fell near the penalty area in the 37th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Capdevilla's protests and gave Hector Berdoi a yellow card for diving instead. Pastor Valery stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Felix Montenegro's shot from short distance in the 41st minute. When the match had gone on for 43 minutes, Miguel Diagur took a quick shot and it went in 1-2 without a chance for Julio Vera to make any attempt to save it. After a rather tough play, Ecuador's Primitivo Andino got a free kick in the 46th minute. After having played for 47 minutes, Miguel Diagur managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Capdevilla's supporters crossed their fingers, but Miguel Diagur was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-2 lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Daniel Zorita stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The supporters of Capdevilla booed when Ecuador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 54 match minutes in a wonderful position. Felix Montenegro didn't get a good kick on the ball. 56 minutes into the match, Capdevilla's Miguel Diagur sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Julio Vera narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Capdevilla's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Adolfo Dolfo in the 58th minute. Cristian Sancho received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Pastor Valery came out and tried to block the shot, but Cristian Sancho slotted it home off the left post making it 1-3 in the 60th minute. 64 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Omar Maju came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Miguel Diagur had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Daniel Zorita received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 68th minute. Pastor Valery tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Julio Vera came out of the goal in the 71st minute to try and stop a shot by Capdevilla's Miguel Diagur. But to his dismay, Miguel Diagur quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-3. The audience thought a goal was coming when Cristian Sancho got free with Pastor Valery in the 74th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Pastor Valery took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cristian Sancho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 81 minutes into the match, Capdevilla's goal looked a bit too open when Cristian Sancho came free, but Pastor Valery reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 82nd minute Ecuador were awarded a corner. Daniel Zorita went to the cornerflag to take it. A nice corner shot did that Daniel Zorita got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Pastor Valery quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. 84 minutes into the match, Capdevilla's Miguel Diagur sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Julio Vera narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Adolfo Dolfo made a great header on Capdevilla's corner, it was just that Ecuador's Julio Vera managed to reach the ball for a save.
