The referee ignored Costa Rica's protests and gave Abel Carballo a yellow card for diving instead. In the 8th minute, Abel Carballo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 10 minutes into the match, Costa Rica's goal looked a bit too open when Nistor Anton came free, but Benito Sanz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Costa Rica's Benito Sanz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Pavel Mazăre in the 11th minute of play. In the 13thth minute of the game Nistor Anton who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Costa Rica's Benito Sanz was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The corner first didn't look so dangerous but when Andrei Dumitrache got the ball he succeeded in some way to get through the defenders to deliver a very hard score. Result 0-3. 23 minutes into the match. The audience was convinced that Iustin Radovan's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Benito Sanz was relentless in the 25th minute of the game. Benito Sanz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Iustin Radovan in the 27th minute of the match. In the 29th minute Iustin Radovan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Benito Sanz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Iustin Radovan couldn't finish the play. The Costa Rica players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Purcaresti CSS were winning 0-4.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Axel Tasis to strike the kick off in the second half. After having played for 63 minutes, Emanuel Șerbulea managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Purcaresti CSS's supporters crossed their fingers, but Emanuel Șerbulea was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Benito Sanz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Iustin Radovan, who was totally free with the ball in the 64th minute. Benito Sanz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Iustin Radovan in the 73rd minute of play. In the 78th minute, Iustin Radovan got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. With his leg Benito Sanz managed to avoid a goal in the 80thth minute, when Purcaresti CSS's Nistor Anton fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Nistor Anton received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 85th minute. Benito Sanz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Costa Rica booed when Purcaresti CSS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 86 match minutes in a wonderful position. Emanuel Crăciunescu didn't get a good kick on the ball. 88 minutes into the match, Purcaresti CSS's Nistor Anton sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Benito Sanz narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Nistor Anton sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the final whistle sounded Purcaresti CSS left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Costa Rica.
