With a couple of smart ball manuevers Amado Janpier in the 13th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Julio Vera saved Ecuador from getting behind. Felix Montenegro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 16th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 32nd minute, Daniel Zorita made a precise shot to the right of Roch Puch. AS Monaco FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. Julio Vera stood somewhat misplaced when Amado Janpier came free in front of goal and shot 1-2 to the left of him in the 36 minute. Ecuador's supporters rose to their feet, but Cristian Sancho was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Roch Puch breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Julio Vera made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-2. If Witalis Gecionis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 81st minute Franciszek Zukowski shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 82 minutes into the match, Ecuador's Daniel Zorita sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Roch Puch narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 83rd minute, Cristian Sancho hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 87 minutes had been played when some careless play by Ecuador's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Ludomil Galagan was slow to take the kick. During this time AS Monaco FC's players had a chance to rest. Cristian Sancho could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 88th minute of the match, but Roch Puch made a huge save. After some careless play in the Ecuador defense, Jairo Guifre kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Julio Vera. The Ecuador fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Julio Vera should have stopped the shot. Czeslaw Kornatowski recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 94th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Julio Vera didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Franciszek Zukowski went, in the 95th minute, to the upper right corner, 4-2 was the resulting score. The AS Monaco FC support was delighted with a win in a match that could easily have ended differently.
