Spectators: 39 (Terracing: 30, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Axel Tasis took the kick off in the first half of the match. Valter Rosin kicked well hit freekick during the 11th minute of the match. Benito Sanz made an important save on a dangerous shot by Östen Högberg in the 14th minute. After 15 played minutes Costa Rica got a freekick which was hit by Alan Moruga. Benito Sanz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sven-Erik Högberg, who was totally free with the ball in the 25th minute. After a defensive mix-up in The Alliance's zone, Axel Tasis stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Evert Offendahl came out of the goal and Axel Tasis tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When the match clock showed 46 minutes, the score became 2-0 when Sven-Erik Högberg sped through Costa Rica's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Benito Sanz. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

Benito Sanz didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Kasper Hermansson went, in the 54th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-0 was the resulting score. 56 minutes into the match, Sven-Erik Högberg had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Benito Sanz. Costa Rica's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Sven-Erik Högberg was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-0. In the 69th minute of the match Valter Rosin shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Benito Sanz showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Sven-Erik Högberg in the 81st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Benito Sanz prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 83 played minutes Costa Rica got a freekick which was hit by Axel Tasis. The Alliance's Andreas Nordmark was substituted for Valter Rosin. In the 84th match minute, Costa Rica was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Axel Tasis to maneuver through the defense.
