Joel Gaona sent away a hard shot on goal in the 7th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After 7 minutes of play, Mexico's Joel Gaona made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Johnni Kirkskov was left in no man's land by his defense there! Johnni Kirkskov showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luca Zorita in the 10th minute of the match. When Lionel Messias came up free with the goalie in the 12th minute, the BK Skjold fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Lionel Messias couldn't finish the play. Johnni Kirkskov came out of the goal in the 14th minute to try and stop a shot by Mexico's Joel Gaona. But to his dismay, Joel Gaona quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. 20 minutes into the match, BK Skjold's goal looked a bit too open when Joel Gaona came free, but Johnni Kirkskov reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lautaro Mancebo in the 22nd minute of play forced BK Skjold's goalkeeper Johnni Kirkskov to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 24 played minutes BK Skjold got a freekick which was hit by Bernardo Queirós. With a little luck, Mexico's Dante Lacasa got control of the ball when Jose Eduino tried to sneak it across the goal line. Johnni Kirkskov took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lautaro Mancebo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After having played for 33 minutes, Lionel Messias managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. BK Skjold's supporters crossed their fingers, but Lionel Messias was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jose Eduino in the 33rd minute of play forced Mexico's goalkeeper Dante Lacasa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jose Eduino took the ball and in the 33 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Dante Lacasa. Dante Lacasa dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2. In the 40th minute, Mexico's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Jose Eduino fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. In the 42nd match minute, Mexico was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luca Rouco to maneuver through the defense. Genaro Procopio received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 45th minute. Dante Lacasa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Joel Gaona struck a weak shot in the 47th minute. Johnni Kirkskov didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Mexico. The BK Skjold players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Mexico were winning 1-2.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Joel Gaona stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. BK Skjold's Johnni Kirkskov proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 52nd minute of the match, managed to save BK Skjold from getting a goal against them. With a little luck, BK Skjold's Johnni Kirkskov got control of the ball when Alberto Tafalla tried to sneak it across the goal line. Mexico's Dante Lacasa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jose Eduino in the 59th minute of play. Dante Lacasa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jose Eduino, who was totally free with the ball in the 59th minute. Johnni Kirkskov made a fantastic save in the 62nd minute, when Lautaro Mancebo sent off a good shot on target. In the 64th minute of the match Mexico got a corner. BK Skjold's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Joel Gaona ran over to the corner to take the kick. Johnni Kirkskov showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Joel Gaona in the 85th minute of the match. Luca Zorita kicked well hit freekick during the 91st minute of the match. Jose Eduino fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dante Lacasa having to interfere. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Mexico had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
