After having played for 10 minutes, Andre Gedsted managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. The Blues's supporters crossed their fingers, but Andre Gedsted was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Tomas Illescas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 13th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Jonathan Ferrant made an important save on a dangerous shot by Henning Fjordskov in the 23rd minute. Rigoberto Mina kicked well hit freekick during the 27th minute of the match. In the 28th minute of the match André Hurdle sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Jonathan Ferrant skillfully saved the ball. The referee felt a red card was in order, 31 minutes into the game, when Derya Acabey put in a rough tackle. After 31 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for The Blues! The Blues's attentive Fillip Horsdam managed to snatch the ball when Salvador Gisbert made a throw-in in the 44th minute of the game. The The Blues players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Venezuela were winning 0-1.

The wind increased when Tomas Illescas made the kick off in the second half. The supporters of Venezuela booed when The Blues was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 56 match minutes in a wonderful position. Henning Fjordskov didn't get a good kick on the ball. Patricio Costa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 63rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Tomas Illescas in the 66th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Mira Bobo prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 69th minute the ball was on its way in behind The Blues's goalkeeper Mira Bobo, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 72 minutes into the match, Venezuela's Tomas Illescas sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Mira Bobo narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Venezuela's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Tomas Illescas in the 73rd minute. Tomas Illescas made a great header on Venezuela's corner, it was just that The Blues's Mira Bobo managed to reach the ball for a save. Tomas Illescas might have been able to make a better finish in the 74th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Mira Bobo. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Tomas Illescas ran back to his position shaking his head. Mira Bobo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tomas Illescas in the 74th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Venezuela's zone, Henning Fjordskov stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jonathan Ferrant came out of the goal and Henning Fjordskov tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The throw-in from Mourits Leikier in the 80th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Venezuela's Salvador Gisbert. In the 84th minute, Tomas Illescas got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 88th minute, Fillip Horsdam hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 90 played minutes The Blues got a freekick which was hit by Fillip Horsdam. The Venezuela players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
