Cido Fernandez took the ball and in the 9 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Marcos Cotilla. Marcos Cotilla dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Vladislav Dzhalev in the 16th minute of play forced Panama's goalkeeper Marcos Cotilla to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Panama getting a freekick after 18 minutes play. Felipe Ros hit a great ball. When İlbey Denizalp came up free with the goalie in the 19th minute, the EK fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that İlbey Denizalp couldn't finish the play. After 21 played minutes Panama got a freekick which was hit by Alex Cambeiro. In the 24th minute İlbey Denizalp shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marcos Cotilla saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. It seemed to be an obvious goal in the 26th minute, but Denimir Bebin got his fingers on the ball or the save, leaving EK hanging dry this time. After 26 played minutes Abraham Alguacil rounded EK's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 1-1. In the 28th match minute, Panama was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Miguel Miralles to maneuver through the defense. Marcos Cotilla showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from İlbey Denizalp in the 30th minute of the match. Vladislav Dzhalev might have been able to make a better finish in the 37th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Marcos Cotilla. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Vladislav Dzhalev ran back to his position shaking his head. Vladislav Dzhalev kicked well hit freekick during the 44th minute of the match. If Tomas Berganza had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Disappointed in the 1-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Vladislav Dzhalev was the one to do the kick off. The supporters of Panama booed when EK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 62 match minutes in a wonderful position. İlbey Denizalp didn't get a good kick on the ball. Panama's Marcos Cotilla proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 65th minute of the match, managed to save Panama from getting a goal against them. Dylan Sarmiento hit a great freekick 70 minutes into the match. Marcos Cotilla took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from İlbey Denizalp, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 72nd minute Vladislav Dzhalev shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marcos Cotilla saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 73rd minute, Tomas Berganza hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 74th minute, Tomas Berganza fired away a free kick at the goal, but hit it at the wrong angle and it went over the crossbar. In the 75th match minute, Panama was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Aaron Barrios to maneuver through the defense. EK's İlbey Denizalp couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 76th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Panama. The supporters of EK booed when Panama was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 77 match minutes in a wonderful position. Felipe Ros didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 79th minute of the match EK got a corner. Panama's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. İlbey Denizalp ran over to the corner to take the kick. In the 81st minute, EK's İlbey Denizalp dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-4. In the 86th minute Vladislav Dzhalev shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marcos Cotilla saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Marcos Cotilla made an important save on a dangerous shot by Cido Fernandez in the 89th minute. Panama's Marcos Cotilla played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by İlbey Denizalp in the 91st minute of play. 91 minutes into the match, Panama's goal looked a bit too open when İlbey Denizalp came free, but Marcos Cotilla reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 92nd minute of the match, Yancho Traychev got a very nice opportunity to score, but Marcos Cotilla was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. In the 94th match minute, Panama was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Aaron Barrios to maneuver through the defense. EK's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
