Ecuador's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Daniel Zorita in the 8th minute. The corner led Ecuador's Daniel Zorita to fire away a dangerous shot which Emerson Ferraz despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. When Ecuador's Felix Montenegro in 9 game minutes managed to cut through with the ball in front of the goal, only having to shoot. Emerson Ferraz guarding the goal like a pit bull was extremely focused and managed to reach the ball just by the crossbar before it went in. The audience thought a goal was coming when Daniel Zorita got free with Emerson Ferraz in the 11th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Felix Montenegro struck a weak shot in the 15th minute. Emerson Ferraz didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ecuador. In the 22nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Möhnsen FC's goalkeeper Emerson Ferraz, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 26 minutes into the game, Cristian Sancho recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Emerson Ferraz. Cristian Sancho showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-0. If Daniel Zorita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. Daniel Zorita was slow to take the kick. During this time Ecuador's players had a chance to rest. The corner ended in Cristian Sancho almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Möhnsen FC's Emerson Ferraz did a great save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luis Andino in the 34th minute of play forced Möhnsen FC's goalkeeper Emerson Ferraz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Timo Schinnenburg, who was totally free with the ball in the 47th minute. Julio Vera didn't succeed to prevent the ball from going into goal when Möhnsen FC's Guido Burgstaller shot an unexpected shot in the crossbar's under edge and made 3-2 in the ordered_time% minute. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-2.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Guido Burgstaller was the one to do the kick off. When Béla Strothmann fell near the penalty area in the 53rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Möhnsen FC's protests and gave Béla Strothmann a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Ecuador booed when Möhnsen FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 53 match minutes in a wonderful position. Béla Strothmann didn't get a good kick on the ball. 55 minutes into the game, Guido Burgstaller recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Julio Vera. Daniel Zorita sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 63rd minute, Möhnsen FC's Timo Schinnenburg dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 3-4. After 66 played minutes Möhnsen FC got a freekick which was hit by Jens Albers. Möhnsen FC's Emerson Ferraz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristian Sancho in the 68th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Möhnsen FC's Torben Holbach got a free kick in the 69th minute. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Timo Schinnenburg, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Daniel Zorita received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 73rd minute. Emerson Ferraz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
