Spectators: 43 (Terracing: 33, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Daniel Zorita started the match with the kick off. Daniel Zorita took the ball and in the 4 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Pompiliu Nisporeanu. Pompiliu Nisporeanu dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. 7 minutes into the game, Ecuador's Cristian Sancho nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Pompiliu Nisporeanu made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. Pompiliu Nisporeanu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristian Sancho in the 9th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 13th minute, Daniel Zorita managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ecuador's supporters rose to their feet, but Daniel Zorita was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Pompiliu Nisporeanu breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Daniel Zorita might have been able to make a better finish in the 16th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Pompiliu Nisporeanu. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Daniel Zorita ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 17th minute, Felix Montenegro left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Ecuador fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-3. Pompiliu Nisporeanu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Daniel Zorita, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Doru Săvescu, who was totally free with the ball in the 27th minute. Cristian Sancho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 29th minute. Pompiliu Nisporeanu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 30 minutes into the game, Ecuador's Daniel Zorita nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Pompiliu Nisporeanu made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-5. Agustín Saelices hit a great freekick 33 minutes into the match. In the 36th minute Daniel Zorita shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pompiliu Nisporeanu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Pompiliu Nisporeanu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luis Andino in the 39th minute of play. Luis Andino struck a weak shot in the 41st minute. Pompiliu Nisporeanu didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ecuador. In the 43rd minute, Daniel Zorita ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Pompiliu Nisporeanu was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-6. After the first half Ecuador were leading 0-6. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Dan Aanuţei charged in rather forcefully in the 51st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Dan Aanuţei the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Ecuador made a substitution. Luz Palacio replaced Daniel Zorita. Dan Aanuţei kicked well hit freekick during the 53rd minute of the match. Pompiliu Nisporeanu made an important save on a dangerous shot by Cristian Sancho in the 56th minute. 61 minutes into the game, Cristian Sancho lined in a short shot 0-7 behind a frustrated Pompiliu Nisporeanu. Iulian Cangeopol's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Julio Vera read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 69th minute of play. In the 73rd minute, Cristian Sancho made a precise shot to the right of Pompiliu Nisporeanu. F.C. DIANU 76 -Stiinta-'s defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-8. When Cristian Sancho came up free with the goalie in the 81st minute, the Ecuador fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cristian Sancho couldn't finish the play. Luz Palacio fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 96th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pompiliu Nisporeanu having to interfere. When the match was over Ecuador could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than F.C. DIANU 76 -Stiinta- throughout the match.
